Childhood was meant to dance..
There is a season of life that slips by far too quickly.
A season filled with tiny ballet slippers, contagious giggles, curious minds, muddy boots, storybooks, butterfly wishes, and little hands reaching for yours.
At Tumbleberry Dance, we believe childhood was never meant to be rushed. It was meant to be explored, imagined, celebrated... and danced.
Tumbleberry Dance is a gentle, community-centered dance program in Napa Valley created especially for young children and their families. Our parent-and-me and preschool classes blend ballet, storytelling, music, imaginative play, and creative movement into joyful experiences that nurture confidence, connection, and wonder.
Our intentionally small class sizes create space for every child to be seen, encouraged, and celebrated at their own pace. There are no competitions, overwhelming commitments, or expensive fees—just meaningful moments shared between children, parents, and a caring community.
Hi, I'm Alysia.
I'm a Napa Valley local, born and raised, and dance has shaped my life from the very beginning. I took my first dance classes at Expressions Dance Studio before continuing my training through color guard in high school and later dancing with Soul Vitality, the contemporary company at Bliss Urban Arts Center. I went on to teach ballet and jazz at Napa Valley Ballet, where I discovered my love for teaching young dancers.
Today, I'm a wife, mother, doodle dog lover, lifelong dancer, and the founder of Tumbleberry Dance. I also serve as the Head Choreographer at Studio G School of Music & Theatre, where I choreograph for the G Major and invitation-only G Select performers, our annual Studio G Live showcase, and children's musical theatre productions. I'm currently continuing my education in Early Childhood Education through Solano College because I believe great dance teachers never stop learning about the children they serve.
Tumbleberry grew from a simple dream: to create the kind of dance experience I wanted for my own family.
A place where parents are invited onto the dance floor.
A place where little ones can twirl without pressure.
A place where imagination is just as important as technique.
A place where children build confidence through kindness, creativity, music, and movement.
Most of all, a place where families find community.
Every ribbon wand, every story danced, every bubble floated across the room, every first plié, every joyful leap becomes part of a childhood worth remembering.
Because these little years don't last forever.
And we believe they deserve to be filled with wonder.
Because childhood was meant to dance.
